Hello me luvs! I miss you all so very much!!! It's been really painful to be away for such a long time and unfortunately I still don't have my computer back...aaargh!!! So typical of my little brother to take forever to fix it! I'm getting severe withdrawal symptoms here and I'm in desperate need of having interesting art discussions with all my dear fellow artists.
I hope you're all okay, I only have about 20 minutes left in the library computer, so forgive me if I don't reply to any of your posts on your blogs, I promise I'll read the latest entries within the time I have left and know that I care and miss you all, I didn't just vanished from the face of the net!
I've been keeping busy, painting as much as possible, taking life drawing classes at the Art Students League summer session, trying on some new techniques, looking forward to some plein aire painting at Central Park and working on a tutorial using the Icarus board. It's coming along nicely so far, can't wait to share it all of you, This board is really incredible, I can't say enough good words about it. If you really want to take your colored pencil art to the sky, I'd say go for it, the Icarus is worth every cent! And for everyone who's doing the exercises on Alyona Nickelsen's book, a little tip: I haven't used any OMS at all. Wherever she instructs to apply a wash of OMS, I work over the warm zone on the Icarus and use cotton swabs, or tortillions or a colorless blender to gently move the pigment around. It works just as well, if not better than the solvent.
What else is new? Oh, yeah, my little boy just turned 14 last Thursday. OMG!!! He's already towering over me and it seems like it was just yesterday he was a tiny little thing cooing in my arms. I miss his baby days...Oh well, better sit patiently and wait for him to give me some grandbabies! Not too soon I hope!

Hey Jade! Sorry I haven't been around as much either. Been super busy with year end school commitments and summertime stuff. Just wanted you to know that I was still alive, and hopefully will post some new thinkgs on my blog real soon!
Oh! And happy belated birthday to your boy, my daughter's going to be 14 in October LOL. They sure do grow up fast :)

I've been hit and miss lately myself but I don't know how I missed this post. Sounds fascinating, what you are working on right now. My 'baby' girl turns 16 in less than two weeks...yikes!
