Hello my darlings:
Sorry I've disappeared for awhile. I had some health stuff to deal with plus Deirdre misbeheaved so badly, that I had no choice but to start her over. When she gets to the same point she was when I stopped, I'll resume the wip.
Also, this weekend I was very busy playing with my brand new Icarus Drawing Board. It is the most amazing implement ever to use with colored pencils or any wax based medium for that matter. It has a warm and a cool zone and blending is a breeze in this magnificent tool. It is, without a doubt, worth every penny and then some.
Click here: http://www.icarusart.net/ to learn more about this brilliant invention of the very talented artist Ester Roi, CPSA. I very, very highly recommend this board, it'll be the best investment you'll ever do in your entire art career, I promise you that.
Here's just a small slideshow of the first piece I completed, after playing around and having lots of fun for hours and hours. I can't believe how fast I was able to finish it. About half of one morning. Without the Icarus Board it would've taken me a solid whole day's work, if not more. Not to mention my wrists and in fact, my entire arm, would be in agony.
Without further ado, take a look at my little anjou pear done on a 5"X7" piece of white Stonehenge paper with Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils and Art Stix. Hope you enjoy. I'm the process of writing a complete and detailed tutorial, so be a little patient, and soon, you'll have the total skinny on how to use the board.
P.S.: For some reason the slideshow didn't work on this post, so please check it out at the above entry.
