I want to start this entry by thanking all of you for your kind and encouraging words yesterday during my panic over my damaged fairy tale piece. Your comments meant a lot to me, you girls really helped me pull myself together. You have my sincerest appreciation.
Anyways, I did try some of your suggestions to save the painting along with a few other things but in the end, there was nothing I could do to make it look even halfway decent. Oh, well, stuff happens, I could either stare at it forever and cry or call it a day and start it again.
I really didn't feel like going back to it today so I started something else. I decided to have a little more fun with pouring pigments and addtives to see what happens. Only this time I had more control so I could create kinda of a semi-abstract, loose painting.
I also worked a little with oils and colored pencils to re-create a Cezanne painting. I wanted to see if I could do it in a small scale since I've never used oils to make an ACEO before. It was, what should I say, interesting. Well, honestly...it was h-a-r-d!!! The biggest challenge was not to smear the wet paint or accidentally touch it with the side of my hand...Oh, well, it's almost done. I used lots of turps in the layers I applied today so it should be dried to the touch by tomorrow so I can finish it. Should be ready to show you in a couple of days.
I'll leave you with my little painting du jour, for your enjoyment. I call it "Lilly Madness". It's watercolor pencils and colored pencils.
